My piano tuning is to the highest standards.  For over 30 years I have been piano tuning for concerts, dozens of recording studios, the BBC, Royal Academy, private individuals, etc. etc. Piano tuning is a science, not an art.  However piano tuning has to be applied with careful attention to the specifics of the particular piano being tuned.  It is a science which involves an instrument made of natural materials – and thus requires the sensitivity of years of experience in piano tuning to know how each individual piano is going to respond, and how to maximise the benefit from the piano tuning so that it will hold the best possible tuning for the longest possible period after the service.

I tune by ear.  This results in the best possible piano tuning but can only be successful after many years of experience.  Piano tuning by machine produces a less satisfactory result.

I can also advise you whether you will be able to raise or lower the pitch of your piano, should you require – and I will tell you the precise optimum period to follow up for the next piano tuning, which varies considerably depending on age, style, situation manufacture, piano tuning history, current usage, the user and requirements.
